Keep your butts to yourself...

I know we live in a free society and you can certainly smoke all that you like, if you have chosen to make living and breathing more difficult as you get older...but please do not be like the young mother with the stroller whom I spotted taking a huge drag out of a half finished ciggie and then promptly flick the rest to the pavement, step on it with her rubber thong, and then just leave her rubbish as she waltzed into the supermarket.
Take your freaking butts with you or stick them in the bin ( there was one right next to her )....
How egotistical to think that you are of such importance as to automatically assume that the rest of the world is there just to pick up after you...such a big ask isn't it?
It must be the full moon -
I went to another ritual last night, outdoors - very casual.
We made wishes and asked the element of water to cleanse our thoughts and take our dreams into the world - I got a pretty prompt reply to my wish...so cool when the Universe does that...you just have to listen.

Crazy Full Moon!

Tonight's full moon was quite beautiful, sneekily peeking through the clouds every so often.
They call tonight a blue moon cause its the second one in the month, but its not really blue -  who cares - what an excuse to eat  blue cake with blue M&M's and blue icing! ( not recommended  for those with allergic reactions )!
They blame an increase in crime on full moons and also people doing more strange things than normal at the time of a full moon.
I used to work at a local club many years ago and I can vouch for a lot of oddball behaviour, more drunken stupidity, more arguments and bashings. I also recently spoke to some ladies that I know that work in nursing homes and they say that their workload can double around full moon time...what fun!
I might just stay inside till its over......

Ouch! That word really packs a punch!

Sometimes I wonder if we are still living in the dark ages?
Have you noticed how the word 'witch'can still make people squirm in utter panic!
Like we have been spawned from some wretched golem in a craggy cave at the edge of the local village - last time I looked I have a birth certificate that says I was born in a local hospital, just like everybody else! (although mother was a bit of a question mark! )

If you thought the world was open and ready for total acceptance of the witch identity you are kidding yourself - even a mere hint, can send normal sane people scurrying into dark corners holding crosses and saying their prayers.
For goodness sake!
I cant blame them really, we have some really unusual characters amongst the clan - yet, like anything else, one should not judge a book by its cover nor a persona by their label ( or pentacle ).
This has been a point bought home for myself of late when I was taken aback by the reaction of some, upon mentioning the word 'pagan' - I hadn't even gotten to the witch thing yet. Needless to say, it was not.

Then we have those brow lifters who smirk, that its 'just a phase'and that those under the age of 18 will surely grow out of it the moment they decide to live in the real word and stop playing games.
Worst still, are those that look upon the 'aged' crones with disgust as rejects of society, losers who have no partners, are ugly or overweight, can't hold down a PROPER job and are into all this airy fairy shit just to have a valid excuse to get out of the house every so often and attend silly meetings called 'sabbats'and 'esbats'.
Ok, I'll play along, just for peace and quiet.
Let them think me insane and attempting to salvage what is left of my youth by wearing copious amounts of silver and purple.
Needless to say, it proves to be only a test of our resilience and an opportunity to display those attributes sadly lacking in abundance in our communities - that of quiet acceptance and respect.

Here comes the feral witch...

Well,  there is no rest for the wicked and therefore as, my hands can be misconstrued as the devils play things..I must endeavour to keep them busy!
Life is turning upside down and inside out and sometimes bad things turn out to be blessings in disguise, but one thing is for sure 2010 will be an interesting year....
