100 Days of Wykd Witchy Wisdom - The Principal of Vibration Day 12

Nothing Rests - everything moves: everything vibrates - The Kybalion

Everything flows in and flows out again. Everything has its tides. Everything rises and falls. Everything is vibration.
Nothing is static – everything is moving. The even movement of the pendulum is evident in everything. The swing of the pendulum to the one side equals the swing of the pendulum to the other side.
Rhythm equalizes.
Overcome rigidity and live flexibility.
Whatever is rigid must break apart.

From The Kybalion:

Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.”
This Principle embodies the truth that “everything is in motion”; “everything vibrates”; “nothing is at rest”; facts which Modern Science endorses, and which each new scientific discovery tends to verify. And yet this Hermetic Principle was enunciated thousands of years ago, by the Masters of Ancient Egypt.
This Principle explains that the differences between different manifestations of Matter, Energy, Mind, and even Spirit, result largely from varying rates of Vibration.
From THE ALL, which is Pure Spirit, down to the grossest form of Matter, all is in vibration — the higher the vibration, the higher the position in the scale.
The vibration of Spirit is at such an infinite rate of intensity and rapidity that it is practically at rest — just as a rapidly moving wheel seems to be motionless. And at the other end of the scale, there are gross forms of matter whose vibrations are so low as to seem at rest.
Between these poles, there are millions upon millions of varying degrees of vibration. From corpuscle and electron, atom and molecule, to worlds and universes, everything is in vibratory motion.
This is also true on the planes of energy and force (which are but varying degrees of vibration); and also on the mental planes (whose states depend upon vibrations); and even on to the spiritual planes.
An understanding of this Law, with the appropriate formulas, enables Hermetic students to control their own mental vibrations as well as those of others.
The Masters also apply this Principle to the conquering of Natural phenomena, in various ways.
“He who understands the Principle of Vibration, has grasped the Sceptre of Power,”

How does one apply the Law of Vibration in their life?

The first thing you want to do is figure out how being, doing, or having your goal manifest (or come true) is going to make you *feel *.
Once you have that feeling, do whatever it takes to get yourself into that emotional state as often as possible. This may mean doing things or going places that give you that feeling, or even taking a few minutes a day to vividly imagine what it will be like once your goal manifests.
Are we there yet?  In our mind we are. 🙂   …and that only means one thing.  In reality we will soon be!
Remember, the more time you spend in that emotional state, or ‘vibration’, the sooner your goal will arrive.

Don’t ever let anyone talk you out of dreaming BIG, HAIRY, AUDACIOUS GOALS!!

If your goals aren’t big and hairy…so big and hairy that they don’t scare you, then you aren’t dreaming BIG ENOUGH!
Dream BIG Dreams!  …because small dreams have no magick!
Dream Big and then put yourself in that emotional state of what it “feels” like to have that dream come true as often as you can.  The Universe will eventually align itself with that vibrational frequency.
Nikola Tesla (he’s the man that is responsible for the electricity in your home) once said that he would visualize so vividly and so intensely that he could not tell the difference between the object in his mind and the real thing.
Tesla ended up with over 270 patents registered in his name in 28 countries.
Why?  …because his thoughts became things!
That’s what you’re shooting for!
So get to it!
Now is the time to apply the Law of Vibration to your life.

Today's Wykd piece of Witchy Wisdom says:
DREAM BIG BECAUSE THE WHOLE OF LIFE IS MAGICKAL.

100 Days of Wykd Witchy Wisdom - Day 11 The Principal of Correspondence

'As above, so below: as below, so above" - The KYBALION

The Law of Correspondence basically says that our current reality is a mirror of what is going on inside us. Our reality is a result of our inner most dominant thought. If our life is filled with unhappiness, chaos or is just straight up unfulfilling, it is a because that's how we are on the inside.

If our life is filled with unhappiness, chaos or is just straight up unfulfilling,  it is a because that’s how we are on the inside. If we hold negative thoughts internally, then our outer world becomes filled with turmoil and strife.
Here’s the danger in holding negative thoughts.  Ultimately, the negativity becomes a self-perpetuating situation.
What do I mean by “self-perpetuating” ?
Here’s what I mean…
When we start to feel bad on the inside, our perception of the outer world starts to look bad. The worse the outer world becomes, the worse we then feel on the inside.

There is only one way to escape this self perpetuating treadmill…SHIFT YOUR PARADIGM

As within so with out, or, as below so above.
In order to change our outer world, we must first take a good look in the mirror and change the inner man.
In fact, it’s no secret that the very foundation of ALL Self Help Courses is to ‘change from the inside out!’  You can do everything in your power to change our outer world, but if you don’t change your inner world first, you will continue to experience unhappiness, unrest and un-fulfillment in your life. Your reality will always, always, always reflect your inner beliefs and world.
There is not one case I can think of where our outer world isn’t a reflection of our inner world.  It’s like this in every way, shape, form and aspect of out life.

Let’s kick this up a notch..

If we really want to see change in our outer world, we must first change our inner world – our thoughts, beliefs and attitudes.
If we want less wars, less famine, less violence, less bigotry, less sadness, etc…then we must first start with the man/woman in the mirror.

This Principle embodies the truth that there is always a Correspondence between the laws and phenomena of the various planes of Being and Life.
The old Hermetic axiom ran in these words: “As above, so below; as below, so above.” And the grasping of this Principle gives one the means of solving many a dark paradox, and hidden secret of Nature.
There are planes beyond our knowing, but when we apply the Principle of Correspondence to them we are able to understand much that would otherwise be unknowable to us. This Principle is of universal application and manifestation, on the various planes of the material, mental, and spiritual universe — it is an Universal Law.
The ancient Hermetists considered this Principle as one of the most important mental instruments by which man was able to pry aside the obstacles which hid from view the Unknown. Its use even tore aside the Veil of Isis to the extent that a glimpse of the face of the goddess might be caught.
Just as a knowledge of the Principles of Geometry enables man to measure distant suns and their movements, while seated in his observatory, so a knowledge of the Principle of Correspondence enables Man to reason intelligently from the Known to the Unknown.
The key to personal happiness, freedom and peace of mind is to change your thoughts! By focusing exclusively on what it is that we truly desire, and by eliminating all thoughts of what we don’t want, we can begin to shape, mould and build our lives to our own specifications!

Here’s what you can do next…

If you want to start building the life you desire, you can do these three things…
  • Take a hard look at yourself – seriously, take a long, hard look.  Look at your career, your relationships, your health and your financial situation. Ok, now let’s say that your financial situation is in dire straights or not exactly where you want it to be, here’s what you need to do…  Ask yourself this questions… “How are my inner thoughts and attitudes causing this situation in my life ?”
For example, “What are my beliefs about relationships?  …and then ask yourself, “Where did these thoughts come from?”  …and “Why do I think this way?”  “What is the root cause of these thoughts?”  You’ll have to dig deep, but the payoff will be huge and when you are able to finally dissolve these old limiting beliefs.  You’ll start to see your outer world change and reflect your new beliefs of your inner world.
  • The next thing is to do what very few people ever do, “Take full responsibility for whatever is happening in your life.” Most people are more than willing to take responsibility for the good things in their life, but rarely do they want to take responsibility for the bad things in their life.  So in order to break through, you need to take responsibility for both. You can start doing this today.
  • Last, but certainly not least, visualize the world that you truly desire and focus your thoughts on this.

If you want positive change in your life, look inside first.
The bottom line is, by changing the quality of your thoughts, you will change the quality of your life!
There is no mystery to achieving success – it is available to all of us.
Most people aren’t even aware that Universal Laws exists, so the very fact that you’re even reading this blog post proves that you’re in the top 3% of all people on the globe.  Congratulations!!  You’re well on your way to Mastering Your Life!

Today's Wykd Witchy Wisdom says:
Before you ask anyone else to change look deeply into yourself.
What d o you have to change first?

100 days of Wykd Witchy Wisdom - The Principle of Mentalism Day 10

This is the first of the ancient Hermetic Principles.

The Universal Law of Mentalism.

This Law dictates that all of creation exists in the mind of God/Source/Goddess, and by extension our lives exist in our minds.
In other words, perception is reality; things are how you think they are.
We can find reference to this law throughout history, even in the Christian Bible.
According to your faith, so be it onto you.”  (Matthew 9:29)
If you have but the faith of a mustard seed, you can move mountains.” (Matthew 17:20)
“In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.”  (John 1:1)
“The act of observing alters the reality of being observed.”  (Heisenberg Principle)

From the Kybalion:

This Principle embodies the truth that ‘All is Mind.’  It explains that The All (which is the Substantial Reality underlying all the outward manifestations and appearances which we know under the terms of ‘The Material Universe’; the ‘Phenomena of Life’, ‘Matter’, ‘Energy’, and, in short, all that is apparent to our material senses) is spirit which in itself is unknowable and undefinable, but which may be considered and thought of as an universal, infinite, living mind.
It also explains that all the phenomenal world or universe is simply a Mental Creation of The All, subject to the Laws of Created Things, and that the universe, as a whole, and in its parts or units, has its existence in the Mind of The All, in which Mind we ‘live and move and have our being.’
This Principle, by establishing the Mental Nature of the Universe, easily explains all of the varied mental and psychic phenomena that occupy such a large portion of the public attention, and which, without such explanation, are non-understandable and defy scientific treatment.
So, the first step in applying the Law of Mentalism, is to first decide “What Do I Want?”
You really want to get crystal clear on this.
How clear?
Crystal…Clear.
If you aren’t sure about what you want, then sit down and make a list of what you DON’T want, then, make a list of the opposites. lol
Hey, sometimes it’s easier for people to know what they don’t want, before they know what the DO want.
Keep polishing it until you have your goal or desire honed to such a degree that even thinking about it makes you smile. 🙂
It is important to understand that which you desire must first exist as conscious ideas before they become physical realities.

100 Days of Wykd Witchy Wisdom - the Pentacle Day 9

Historians believe that the pentacle's origins trace back to the ancient Mesopotamians, who engraved it on pottery and other possessions, and that people used it to reference the four corners or directions.

Later, the Greeks associated the pentacle with perfection, while the Hebrews aligned the pentacle with truth.
Other cultures have used the pentacle to signify the natural elements, the power of the number five, and the relationship between people and the deities they worshipped.

Many cultures and religious traditions assign meanings to each of the pentacle's five points.
The top point often symbolises gods, goddesses, spirit, or other aspects of divinity.
The divine unites the other four points.

For instance, the points might symbolise earth, fire, water, and air, each of which aligns with a particular emotion or virtue.

Where Should You Use the Pentacle?

Many Pagans use the pentacle during rituals or religious celebrations. Some believe that the pentacle provides protection for those who wear or create it.

You can also use the pentacle to align yourself with the elements of the earth or with your spiritual destiny. It's considered an object of great power because of its long history in Pagan traditions.
Use it as a talisman and in your spell craft and conjuring.

How Has the Pentacle Evolved?

Like many religious and faith-based symbols, the pentacle has changed over time to suit the needs of specific cultures.
For instance, the Pythagoreans used it as a secret sign that identified themselves to each other.
You can also assign your own meaning to the pentagram.
What does it mean to you?
How does it make you feel?
What aspects of the pentagram attract you?

Does Any One Faith Claim the Pentacle?

Many cultures and religions have used the pentacle over the generations, which means it's not beholden to a particular group.
Some people might argue over its origins or its meaning, but what truly matters is what the symbol means to you.

Like other faith-based symbols, it's also prone to misinterpretation. Some associate it with Satanism, black magic, and other negative concepts, but it's certainly not an evil or dangerous symbol.

Understanding the purpose and meaning behind the pentacle can help you understand your relationship to it better.
If you use the pentagram or pentacle in your faith, you can do so without fear of judgment or mistakes.

TODAY'S WORDS OF WYKD WITCHY WISDOM  - DAY 9

100 Days of Wykd Witch Wisdom - Day 8 The Pentagram

  • The Pentagram
  • The earliest use of the pentagram we know of is from ancient Sumeria-- but it wasn't a religious Pagan symbol.
  • It was a word in their language that meant a corner or angle (due to the 5 sharp angles in the figure).
  • In the 6th century BCE, Pherecydes of Syros used it to illustrate the five recesses of the cosmology.
  • Pentagram figures occasionally turned up in the far East as well, due to the 5 Chinese elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, water.
  • Pythagoras went on to use the pentagram as the symbol of man.
  • Partly it was because the shape represented a human standing with his arms spread wide (the top point being the head, the two outer points the arms, and the bottom two points the legs).
  • It was also considered to represent the 5 elements that the Greeks believed made up the physical body: Earth (matter), Air (breath), Fire (energy), Water (fluids) and Aether (the psyche or soul).
  • When Pythagoras’ school was driven underground, students used the pentagram as a secret symbol to identify each other.
  • In ancient Judaism it was a symbol found in mysticism, related to the top portion of the Tree of Life in the Kabbalah, it stood for the 5 books of the Torah (what Christians refer to as the Pentateuch in the Old Testament of the Bible) and the symbol was featured in a seal representing the secret names of God.
  • Early Christians into the middle ages used the pentagram heavily as a symbol for Christ’s five wounds.
  • The star of Bethlehem that lead the wise men to the baby Jesus was believed to be the pentagram.
  •  In Authorial legends, you’ll often see the symbol of the Pentagram inscribed on knight’s shields and other things—these were actually Christian, not Pagan, references. Christians thought of the pentagram as a protective amulet, and it was the primary symbol of Christianity back then, even more common than the cross

  • For modern-day Pagans, the Pentacle contains many wonderful layers of symbolism.

  • The five points symbolize the four directions with the fifth point as the sanctity of Spirit, within and without. The circle around the star symbolizes unity and wholeness. It represents the quest for Divine Knowledge, a concept which is ancient in origin and universal in scope from the earliest written ritual texts in Babylonia, to the Celts, to the Native American traditions. Similar to other figures which are made of a single unbroken line, this symbol is used to mark off magical enclosures or ritual areas, especially when used for invocation of deities or spirit.

  • The pentagram is one of the most powerful and popular symbols used by many Neo-Pagans, including those involved in Wicca and Ceremonial Magic. In working magic, Pagans may draw the shape of the pentagram in the air with the athame, or sacred blade, sometimes in the four directions as part of the ritual. A physical pentacle in the form of a flat disc is often the a main feature of the altar and is a widely used ritual tool. The symbol is used to decorate magickal tools or items such as a chalice, cauldron, or the handle of the athame itself. For some it represents feminine energy relating to the Goddess and may be used to bind elemental spirits of the earth as well as to hold consecrated objects such as herbs, amulets and crystals. The spoken or chanted text of a spell or invocation may be repeated five times to help insure its effectiveness. (3, 5, 7, 9 and 13 being some of the most commonly used repetitions in this context). The pentacle is worn both ornamentally and symbolically by many Pagans for protection and to signify that they are involved in the world of magick and divine wisdom.

  • It is interesting to note that five-fold symmetries are rarely found in non-organic life forms but are uniquely inherent to life, as in the form of the human hand, a starfish, flowers, plants and many other living things. This pattern of five exists even down to a molecular level. Five, therefore, embodies the form and formation of life, the very essence of life.

  • The pentagram is a very widespread sacred symbol used since ancient times in many areas including Egypt, India, Persia and Greece. Almost all cultures had a five-fold symbol, which was very important to their religious and spiritual life. The sacred nature of five, the important nature of "five-ness" is amply attested to in Celtic tradition from which much of modern Paganism is derived. Five appears in numerous Celtic contexts: Ireland had five great roads, five provinces and five paths of the law. The fairy folk counted by fives, and the mythological figures wore five fold cloaks.

  • In the ancient Irish tale, "Cormac's Cup of Gold", the hero "saw a royal fortress with four houses in it, and a bright well with nine ancient hazels growing over it. In the well, were five salmon who ate the nuts that dropped from the purple hazels, and sent the husks floating down the five streams that flowed therefrom. The sound of the streams was the sweetest music...The spring was the Well of Knowledge, and the five streams the five senses through which knowledge is obtained. No one will have knowledge who drinks not a draught out of the well itself or out of the streams. Those who are skilled in many arts drink from both the well and the streams."

  • In another part of the world, around 500 B.C.E.(Before Current Era) lived Pythagoras, an unparalleled scholar, teacher and leader renowned for his knowledge of arithmetic, music, government and sacred geometry. He tapped into the divine mysteries, and, like the ancient Celts, (and many Neo-Pagans) learned from and existed comfortably between both worlds.

  • Pythagoras set up a school where he taught many people, both male and female, who flocked to him in pursuit of divine knowledge. Unfortunately, the school was suppressed in a brutal fashion for political reasons. After this, his followers and the knowledge itself were forced underground, Pythagoreans considered the five-pointed star to be a symbol of life and of the divine human. Therefore, it became the secret sign of the pythagorean followers, "so that they may know each other, "

  • The Pythagorean schools continued on in secret and from this line of descent came the Gnostic and Hermetic Mystery Schools (which contained both men and women and were Christian to varying degrees), as well as the Masonic Guilds, expert stone-masons initiated into Mystery Schools learning which included sacred geometry. Even though the Church considered the Masons to be quite heretical, they hired them to build the most sacred structures in Europe- the great cathedrals-many of which contained pentagonal or five-fold symmetries. Parallel with Masonic culture were the alchemists of medieval Europe, scientists, philosophers and magicians, both male and female, who studied the mysteries of the Universe. These societies held onto this five-fold symbol which kept its positive, ancient attributes and signified hidden, luminous knowledge.

  • This ancient wisdom lived on underground through the mystery schools and other sources and continued throughout the Middle Ages up until modern times. However, because this Divine knowledge threatened the authority and power of the Church, those who pursued it and the symbols they used were severely persecuted.

  • The star of life, which had been a symbol of divine illumination, became stigmatized as a sign of heretical thought and eventually as something evil. These negative attributes were further reinforced by the use of the upside down pentagram by some satanic cults who are probably more "Anti-Christians" than "Pagans". as their beliefs are not those of most Neo-Pagan groups. Modern media continues to distort the meaning of the pentagram by showing it in both its upright and inverted position, yet portraying all who use it as evil.

  • In spite of this difficulty history, the symbol has survived, and continues to be used by those who uphold the search for divine knowledge. The sacred pentagram maintains its many wonderful and magickal ancient attributes and is still the symbol of life it has always been.
